Menurut analis industri yang dikutip oleh Cnet dari The Korea Herald, hal tersebut disinyalir belum akan terjadi. Alasannya adalah kapasitas produksi layar melengkung belum mencukupi untuk perangkat andalan macam Galaxy S5 atau iPhone 6.
"Ponsel melengkung akan diperkenalkan akhir tahun depan, tetapi kemungkinan dalam bentuk salah satu varian Galaxy, bukan model flagship," ujar analis Eugene Investment & Securities Kim Jong-hyun.
Analis lain, John Seo dari Shinhan investment, berpendapat bahwa sulit bagi Apple untuk memproduksi layar melengkung pada tahun depan. Ponsel-ponsel dengan layar lengkung dari produsen ini diperkirakan baru mulai hadir pada 2015.
